pieces of history at Kraton
Kraton is the palace of Yogyakarta’s Sultan. The innermost group of buildings are still used by the present sultan, while the courtyard used as a museum and holds an extensive collections, including ‘gamelan’ instruments, weapons, royal carrieges, old paintings and photograph of the former sultan in Jogja.
This is where we can see the unique culture of Yogyakarta, and why it has to be remain as a Special territory. picture here showed some of jogja’s culture and some of the national events that happened in Yogyakarta.
One of room at the museum within the kraton is dedicated to Sultan Hamengkubuwono IX. It houses photographs and personal effects of the great man.
